Job summary

Komodo Monitr Ltd. in Christchurch, NZ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to evolve the technical integrity of our platform and translate product intent into robust software for schools globally.

You’ll own end-to-end development, shape architecture, improve testing and deployment practices, and collaborate closely with product and customer experience teams. This is a full-time, permanent role with ESOP.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience building and scaling customer-facing web applications.
• Experience using AI as part of daily workflows to automate routine tasks.
• Experience architecting systems for a global user base.
• Track record of taking ownership of complex features from concept to production.
• Ability to engage with customers or staff to investigate and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Technical Ownership: Own end-to-end implementation from design to deployment and post-release follow-up.
• Architecture & Design: Contribute to architectural decisions balancing customer value and maintainability.
• Engineering Practice: Evolve testing, deployment workflows, and code review standards.
• Production Stability: Lead investigation and resolution of production issues with durable fixes.
• Quality & Peer Review: Conduct thorough peer code reviews to maintain code quality.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Customer Experience teams to align technical decisions with context.
