Job summary

Vector Technology Services (VTS) in Auckland, New Zealand, is expanding its engineering team with a Senior Software Developer to help shape the Diverge platform for the energy sector.

You will work primarily in Java with Spring, and contribute to frontend work using React while applying Terraform for infrastructure automation, collaborating with AWS. You’ll be part of a stable, product-focused agile team that embraces TDD/BDD and modern deployment practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in backend development with Java and Spring.
• Proficient with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, IAM).
• Understanding of serverless architectures and React frontend basics.
• Strong experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with TDD/BDD and automated deployment.

Who are we looking for?

You'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Software development experience: advanced knowledge in Backend programming with Java, Spring, and experience of using tooling and process to ensure quality in the software development life cycle


• Cloud computing and AWS Skills – Proficient with AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and more. Understanding how to architect and implement serverless solutions using AWS.


• DevOps / CICD - Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD Practises is essential including how to use tools for continuous integration and continuous delivery


• Excitement about solving problems and a huger to learn


• A passion for helping and caring for others in your team.

The Diverge Platform

• Is a customisable managed software-as-a-service platform; for energy data ingestion, processing insights generation and data delivery.
