Job summary

Vector Limited in Auckland is seeking a Senior Software Developer to help shape the next generation of our Diverge Platform and energy data systems. You will code in Java with Spring, explore AWS serverless solutions, and contribute to automated deployment and testing.

You’ll work in a stable, product-focused agile team with opportunities for growth and cross-team collaboration, including frontend work with React where needed.

Qualifications

  • Advanced backend development experience with Java and Spring.
  • Strong AWS knowledge including serverless architectures (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3).
  • Experience in CI/CD practices and tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software primarily in Java; collaborate with frontend as needed (React).
  • Work in an agile, product-focused team with a voice in what and how to build.
  • Apply TDD/BDD and automated deployment to deliver reliable software.
  • Collaborate with partners like AWS to scale software for a global customer base.

  • Use your advanced software development skills to build software - primarily in Java, but also at times with frontend frameworks like React, and infrastructure automation with Terraform
  • Grow in your role and in your career, collaborating with leading global partners such as AWS to build valuable software systems for a global customer base
  • Work in a stable, product-focused agile team and have a voice in what we build, and how we build it
  • Learn (and teach) how to use TDD, BDD, and automated application deployment for effective software delivery
  • Gain experience with AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and more.
Who are we looking for?

You’ll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Software development experience: advanced knowledge in Backend programming with Java, Spring, and experience of using tooling and process to ensure quality in the software development life cycle
  • Cloud computing and AWS Skills – Proficient with AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and more. Understanding how to architect and implement serverless solutions using AWS.
  • DevOps / CICD - Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD Practises is essential including how to use tools for continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Excitement about solving problems and a huger to learn
  • A passion for helping and caring for others in your team.

The Diverge Platform

  • Is a customisable managed software-as-a-service platform; for energy data ingestion, processing, insights generation and data delivery.

  • Is deployed and managed through infrastructure-as-code, automated software release and service orchestration.
  • Performs streaming data processing in state, temporal sequence and data dependency aware pipelines.
