Job summary

Air New Zealand is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to help build the next generation of digital products and platforms. You will design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and microservices, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, and AWS to deliver scalable cloud-native solutions.

You'll work within cross-functional teams, collaborating with product managers and designers, contributing to engineering standards, testing, and AI-enabled development as the company embraces Agentic Software

Qualifications

• Solid backend software engineering experience.
• Experience building APIs, microservices, or distributed applications.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Exposure to AWS cloud services and event-driven technologies such as Kafka is highly desirable.
• A strong foundation in software design, quality, security, and performance.
• A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and enthusiasm for modern engineering practices and AI-enabled development.
• Experience with full stack development, autonomous product teams, or self-directed technical projects would be an advantage.
