Senior Salesforce Developer
6-Month Contract
Auckland and Wellington
We are seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer to lead the improvement, remediation, and scaling of a complex Salesforce environment. This role focuses on reducing technical debt, improving platform stability and performance, and delivering scalable Salesforce solutions that support business growth.
The successful contractor will work across multiple initiatives, including platform optimization, system enhancements, and integration projects. You will collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams while providing technical leadership and contributing to best practices, development standards, and solution design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Salesforce solutions.
- Lead platform remediation and technical debt reduction initiatives.
- Develop solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, Platform Events, and integrations.
- Support and prioritize a backlog of enhancements and service requests.
- Build reusable frameworks and scalable development patterns.
- Design and implement integrations with internal and third-party systems.
- Contribute to release management, testing, deployment, and SDLC processes.
- Mentor developers and drive engineering excellence across the team.
Required Experience
- 5+ years Salesforce development experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in:
- Apex
- Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Salesforce Flows
- Platform Events
- Salesforce integrations and APIs
- Deep understanding of trigger frameworks, governor limits, security, testing, code coverage, and performance optimization.
- Strong software engineering background, ideally 8-10 years' broader development experience.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven architectures, Git, CI/CD, Salesforce DX (SFDX), deployment automation, and release management.
- Ability to work autonomously, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to architectural decisions.
Nice to Have
- Utilities industry experience.
- Salesforce Field Service or ServiceMax experience.
- Exposure to Agentforce and Data Cloud.
- Experience with large-scale Salesforce transformation or remediation programmes.
