Senior Roading Engineer — Project Coordination Lead

Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer – Roading to lead the Local Roads package within the Northland Corridor project in New Zealand. You will coordinate design, drainage, utilities and structures across multiple disciplines to deliver integrated road solutions.

The role focuses on project leadership, design package management and effective stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and budgets. Auckland Transport experience is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering transport infrastructure and local roads in NZ and AU.
• Strong design coordination and package management experience.
• Proven ability to coordinate with contractors, maintenance/operations teams, designers and stakeholders.
• Experience managing delivery interfaces within local roads or state highway projects.
• Familiarity with NZ local authority standards, consenting and Auckland Transport experience is highly regarded.
• Experience using industry-standard design software: 12d, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, AutoCAD.
• Strong technical reporting, drawing and specification development capabilities.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination and delivery of the Local Roads package within the Northland Corridor project.
• Manage interfaces across drainage, utilities, structures and geotechnical disciplines.
• Coordinate with contractor teams to ensure understanding of operational requirements.
• Identify risks and develop practical solutions to support the project.
• Support the Roading discipline to achieve milestones within budget.
• Deliver buildable infrastructure solutions and ensure compliance with design standards.
