Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or higher education.
• 10+ years' road asset management experience.
• Strong technical engineering knowledge with at least 5 years' experience applying regulatory frameworks in NZ or Australia.
• Excellent communication, autonomy, analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Full NZ Driver's Licence - Class 1.
• This is a senior role.

Responsibilities

• Lead roading design projects from early scoping and investigations through to detailed design and construction documentation.
• Oversee and guide design outputs working with BTW designers
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and estimates, ensuring designs are practical, buildable, and fit-for-purpose.
• Ground-truth designs through site visits, stakeholder engagement, and close coordination with contractors and project teams.
• Provide senior technical support through procurement and construction, including design clarifications and issue resolution to keep delivery on track.
