Job summary

Babcock Australasia in Devonport, Auckland, is seeking a Senior Receptionist/Administrator to be the first point of contact for employees, customers, suppliers and Defence stakeholders.

This role covers broad admin, events, travel coordination, finance support, facilities management and executive assistance, with autonomy to improve processes and manage competing priorities. You will play a pivotal role in keeping a busy, professional workplace running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration preferred.
  • Qualification in Office Administration or Business Support.
  • Current full driver’s licence is required.
  • Eligibility to obtain Defence Site Clearance (DSC).

Responsibilities

  • Manage front-of-house and reception duties.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks across teams.
  • Book travel and manage logistics.
  • Provide finance support including invoice processing.
  • Support events, facilities, and executive activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Babcock is looking for a Senior Receptionist/Administrator to join the team based in Devonport, Auckland.

About the role

Join Babcock New Zealand as a Senior Receptionist/Administrator and become the pivotal first point of contact for employees, customers, suppliers, and Defence stakeholders. This is far more than a traditional reception role, offering broad exposure across administration, events, travel coordination, finance support, facilities management, and executive support activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy and professional workplace.

Working closely with the Executive Assistant, you'll have the autonomy to manage competing priorities, improve administrative processes, and contribute to organisational success. About you

You are a highly organised and professional administrator who enjoys being the go-to person in a busy office environment. You can confidently manage reception duties while balancing multiple administrative priorities, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and take initiative to solve problems before they arise. Comfortable working across financial, travel, event and office support functions, you are adaptable, proactive, customer-focused and committed to delivering outstanding service every day.
