Job summary

Southbase is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead QA on a major South Auckland project. You will own the QA management system, develop inspection and test plans (ITPs), manage defects, and oversee subcontractor QA to deliver top-quality outcomes.

You will mentor a small QA team, coordinate with clients, consultants and authorities, and ensure project deliverables meet rigorous quality standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in quality management with Tier 1 construction companies in New Zealand.
• Hands-on experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (Aconex, Procore).
• Proven ability to develop and manage QA processes, site inspection templates and ITPs.
• Experience managing technical documentation, project communications and handover processes (PS1/2/3/4, warranties, certificates).
• Strong stakeholder management skills liaising across clients, consultants, subcontractors and local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Own the project's QA management system from ITP development to defect management and handover.
• Lead a small quality team on a high-profile, technically demanding build.
• Mentor and guide team members to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractor QA activities and ensure client satisfaction on deliverables.
