Job summary

Mott MacDonald New Zealand is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Auckland team. You will lead complex infrastructure projects from planning through delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets and risks, and building lasting client relationships.

Bring strong project delivery experience, a consultancy or client-side background, and professional membership where possible. Employee ownership and growth are core to our culture.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering infrastructure or engineering projects.
• Professional membership (APM, PMP or RICS) preferred.

Responsibilities

Our Advisory and Project Strategy & Delivery team continues to grow, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Auckland team.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects, working with clients across transport, water, and the built environment.

The role

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of complex projects from early planning through to successful delivery.

You’ll play a key role in:

• Leading the delivery of infrastructure Design projects across their full lifecycle
• Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
• Coordinating multidisciplinary teams across design, advisory and delivery
• Overseeing programme, cost, risk and quality outcomes
• Coaching and mentoring junior project managers and team members
• Contributing to business development, bids and client engagement

What you’ll bring

• Strong experience delivering infrastructure or engineering projects within a consultancy or client-side environment
• Proven ability to manage complex projects, stakeholders and delivery risks
• Confident client-facing skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships
• Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and project performance
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
• A relevant tertiary qualification (engineering, APM project management or similar)
• Professional membership (or working toward it) such as APM , PMP or RICS
