Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Project Architect for a distinguished architectural firm in Queenstown. You will lead projects from concept through construction, ensuring design excellence and client satisfaction in a hybrid work setup.

The role requires a Master’s in Architecture, SACAP registration, and at least six years of post-graduate experience in commercial and retail projects. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and strong leadership will be valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture is required.
• Professional SACAP registration is required.
• Minimum of 6 years post-graduate experience in architectural practice.
• Proven experience in design and delivery of commercial and retail projects.
• Proficiency with architectural design software (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp) and visualization tools.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies and building materials.
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Hybrid work environment balancing collaboration and independent work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage architectural projects from inception through completion.
• Develop innovative and practical design solutions for commercial and retail environments.
• Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and specifications using relevant software.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations and planning requirements in South Africa.
• Coordinate with engineers, interior designers, and contractors.
• Conduct site inspections and project meetings to monitor progress and quality.
• Manage project documentation including contracts, permits, and reports.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development.
• Maintain high standards of design quality and technical execution.
