Job summary

Kiwibank is seeking a strategist in its Cloud Foundations team within the Platform Hub, with hybrid work options across Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch. You will translate strategic direction and customer needs into clear, achievable platform outcomes in collaboration with the Product Manager and stakeholders.

Day to day, you’ll prioritise work, shape roadmaps, maintain a quality backlog, and define success metrics.

Qualifications

• Ability to think long term and near term at a detailed level to cope with business and technology complexity.
• Ability to communicate with engineers and architects to allow for effective creation of feature delivery and associated success criteria.
• Ability to think on your feet and react in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Strong stakeholder management at all levels of the Digital and Technology team.
• Solid understanding and experience working in agile environment.
• Experience in leading and facilitating technology teams across Cloud-based infrastructure platform offerings such as AWS and Azure would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Clearly communicating the 'why' of prioritised work, and how this will achieve measurable progress towards objectives.
• Translating feature requirements into platform offerings.
• Maintaining a high-quality backlog, working with Product Management to develop and define roadmaps, and defining metrics to support decision making.
• Facilitating agile ceremonies that produce solid deliverables and outcomes.
• Clearing roadblocks to success, and celebrating successes.
• Developing enduring relationships with stakeholders, deepening everyone’s understanding of needs in both directions.
• Building solid rapport with your squad including a comprehensive understanding of their skill set and remit.
• Providing transparent reporting on progress and knowing when to escape effectively.
