Job summary

Western Bay of Plenty District Council is seeking a skilled policy advisor for a fixed-term role until 30 June 2027 to backfill a secondment. You will develop the Long Term Plan, enable informed decisions, and partner with communities.

The opportunity

This is a fixed term role until 30 June 2027 to backfill a secondment from the team. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic person to be a key advisor on a wide range of policy issues and take a key role in developing the Long Term Plan. Your role will enable Council to make informed decisions and plan for a sustainable future, in partnership with its communities. You will be involved in preparing consultation approaches and providing robust analysis of information for decision makers so that Council can develop robust plans that promote intergenerational wellbeing. You will be an exceptional communicator, collaborator and strategic thinker. You will also have a knack for understanding complex information and competing priorities and the skill to summarise and share the key points with a range of audiences.
