Job summary

Urban Plumbing Auckland Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Plumber / Foreman to join our Auckland team in a full-time capacity. This leadership role blends hands-on plumbing expertise with supervisory responsibilities across residential, commercial and industrial projects.

You will lead crews, ensure quality workmanship and safety, mentor juniors, manage stock and client communications, and travel across the Auckland region as required.

Qualifications

  • NZ Plumber's Licence and post-qualification plumbing experience
  • Minimum 8 years in supervisory or senior plumber roles
  • Proven leadership of plumbing teams on complex projects
  • Strong knowledge of NZ plumbing codes, regs and safety
  • Experience with project management and budgeting

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise plumbing teams on residential, commercial and industrial projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to required standards.
  • Perform plumbing installations, repairs and maintenance: pipework, drainage, water supply.
  • Conduct site assessments for plumbing work.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, regs, health and safety.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings with the team.
  • Train and mentor junior plumbers and apprentices.
  • Manage stock and ordering of materials and equipment.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders on progress.
  • Maintain records of work, time sheets and documentation.
  • Identify improvements to operational efficiency and practices.

Urban Plumbing Auckland Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Plumber / Foreman to join our team in a full-time capacity, based in Auckland and servicing the wider Auckland region. This is a strategic leadership role that combines hands‑on plumbing expertise with supervisory responsibilities. As Senior Plumber / Foreman, you will oversee plumbing projects, manage teams, and ensure the highest standards of workmanship and safety across all our operations. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the Auckland plumbing industry.

Key responsibilities

Lead and supervise plumbing teams on residential, commercial and industrial projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required standard

Perform plumbing installations, repairs and maintenance work, including pipework, drainage systems and water supply systems.

Conduct site assessments for plumbing work

Ensure full compliance with relevant plumbing codes, building regulations, health and safety legislation, and all industry standards

Conduct daily toolbox meetings with the team

Train and mentor junior plumbers and apprentices, providing guidance and support for their professional development

Manage stock and ordering of plumbing materials and equipment to ensure adequate supply for projects

Conduct quality inspections of completed work to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction

Liaise with clients, contractors and other stakeholders to communicate project progress and resolve any issues

Maintain accurate records of work completed, time sheets and project documentation

Identify and implement improvements to operational efficiency and work practices

What we're looking for

NZ Plumber's Licence (current and valid) with a minimum of 8 years' post‑qualification experience in a supervisory or senior plumber role

Proven experience in leading and managing plumbing teams on complex projects

Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, building regulations, health and safety requirements and best practice in New Zealand

Extensive experience with a wide range of plumbing systems and installations, including water supply, drainage, gas and heating systems

Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently on‑site

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships professionally

Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints and specifications

Experience with project management and budgeting

A clean driving licence and willingness to travel across the Auckland region

Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
