Job summary

New Zealand Government's Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora in Auckland City Hospital seeks a senior perioperative nurse or anaesthetic technician for a 12-month maternity leave cover at 0.6 FTE. The role combines expert intraoperative practice with leadership in quality improvement, equity, and workforce development, focusing on perioperative care.

You will work with Nurse Directors and perioperative services to promote equity and clinical governance, mentor colleagues, and embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Qualifications

Relevant clinical experience as expert/senior RN or AT.
Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma or Masters in a relevant area.
Passion for quality improvement, patient safety, health equity and culturally safe practice.

Responsibilities

Be supported by a dynamic and experienced team.
Demonstrate expert intraoperative clinical practice, working alongside teams in theatre.
Lead and support quality and safety initiatives across perioperative services.
Champion equitable access, experience, and outcomes for all patients, with focus on Māori health equity.
Embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into perioperative care, education and service design.
Mentor and develop perioperative nurses and interdisciplinary colleagues.
