Job summary

NZ Recruit is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to provide clinical leadership and oversee the safe delivery of patient care in a peri-operative setting. Working with the General Manager and Clinical Committee, you will lead clinical teams, support the volunteer workforce, and drive orientation, training and capability development.

Qualifications

• 5 years' post-graduate clinical nursing experience.
• Senior-level experience within Theatre or Perioperative nursing.
• Endoscopy experience is strongly desired.
• Proven clinical leadership ability.
• Previous theatre and people-management experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for healthcare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisation, planning and delegation skills.
• Sound judgement, problem-solving and analytical ability.
• A high level of initiative and the ability to manage a varied workload.
• A professional manner, empathy and a strong commitment to patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Providing strong clinical leadership and coordination.
• Overseeing the safe day-to-day delivery of care in a peri-operative environment.
• Supporting and developing the clinical volunteer team.
• Ensuring effective orientation, induction, training and capability development.
• Managing clinical referrals and supporting session and list management.
• Working closely with doctors, nurses, volunteers and other healthcare providers.
• Supporting clinical policies, procedures and continuous improvement.
• Maintaining high standards of patient care, quality and confidentiality.
• Identifying and managing clinical risks.
• Supporting robust Health & Safety systems and a strong safety culture.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant healthcare legislation, regulations and standards.
