Job summary

Fulton Hogan Limited is seeking an experienced Pavement – Senior Site Engineer to lead delivery on the Ōtaki to North Levin project. You will oversee quality, planning, set-out and daily site activities, coordinating with JV partners to keep work on schedule and to spec.

You’ll bring pavement expertise, robust planning, and a collaborative approach to ensure safety and project success on a major national road upgrade.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (NZQA Level 7).
• Minimum 2 years' post-graduate experience in heavy civil construction or major infrastructure.
• Experience in pavements, including pavement construction and/or in-situ stabilisation.
• Strong planning skills to develop methodologies, short-term programmes and practical delivery plans.
• Proven subcontractor management and resource optimisation (materials, plant, labour).
• Collaborative attitude with solid communication and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of daily site works, ensuring tasks are defined and resourced.
• Check drawings and specs, flag issues early and help resolve them.
• Carry out set-out and as-built for pavement layers with accurate levels and geometry.
• Work with JV partners to align programmes and resolve interface issues.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation, QA, test records and ITPs.
• Monitor productivity, quantities and progress with accurate reporting.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to keep fronts running smoothly and safely.
• Contribute to site safety through pre-starts, risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Assist with short-term programming, method statements and work packs.
