Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an experienced senior payroll professional to join a fast-paced, dynamic organisation in Christchurch. This hands-on BAU payroll role provides senior-level oversight while the Payroll Manager leads projects.

You will support end-to-end payroll processing, review team outputs, handle complex queries and drive process improvements, bringing calm through change and strong NZ payroll knowledge.

Qualifications

• Senior payroll advisor or team leader experience.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation.
• Experience reviewing and improving payroll processes.
• Ability to guide other payroll team members.
• Calm, practical approach through change.
• IMS or PayGlobal experience an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support accurate end-to-end payroll processing.
• Review payroll completed by the team and identify issues.
• Manage complex or escalated payroll queries.
• Provide guidance and support to the wider team.
• Improve payroll processes, controls and consistency.
