Job summary

MBIE in Wellington seeks a Senior Ministerial Services Advisor for a 14-month fixed-term role. You will deliver ministerial products, engage with Ministers’ offices and MBIE branches, and ensure high-quality service delivery.

Draft responses to IOAs, Privacy Requests, Ombudsman inquiries and Parliamentary Questions, plus coaching colleagues and supporting on-the-job development. Salary $85,000–$101,000 plus KiwiSaver.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year leading and writing responses to OIAs, Privacy Act requests and/or Ombudsman responses
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, rules and regulations
• Political acumen and understanding of Parliamentary/government structures and processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to form robust professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to produce high-quality work
• Can-do attitude, initiative, discretion and sound judgement
• Ability to work well under pressure and tight timeframes
• Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 quality management system

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and draft replies to ministerial products (OIAs, MOIAs, Ministerial Correspondence, Privacy Requests, Ombudsman requests, Written Parliamentary Questions)
• Collaborate with TWSD and MBIE branches to source information and advice
• Contribute to team processes to ensure high-quality service delivery
• Provide coaching/mentoring and technical advice to other Ministerial Services team members
