Job summary

MBIE is seeking a Senior Policy Advisor to join the Tourism Economy team in New Zealand. You will lead policy projects, deliver rigorous analysis, and provide high-quality advice to Ministers on tourism and economic development issues, working with industry, Māori partners and other agencies to craft practical policy solutions that support sustainable growth.

The fixed-term/secondment runs to November 2027, with Wellington or Christchurch CBD locations.

Qualifications

• Experience developing high-quality policy advice on complex issues.
• Strong analytical and evidence-based approach to policy.
• Experience leading policy projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with Ministers and external partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
