Our client in Welkom, Free State, is seeking a seasoned Senior Mining Engineer to lead complex underground mining projects. The role demands strategic planning, robust execution, and a drive for safety and efficiency.

Applicants should have a BSc or BEng in Mining Engineering with at least 10 years of underground experience. Strong knowledge of Deswik, Vulcan and Surpac is essential, along with project leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• ECSA registration with be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement short-term and long-term mine plans, including production, development, and stope design.
• Oversee mine operations to ensure adherence to plans, safety standards, and production targets.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects or expansions.
• Manage mining projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Implement and monitor safety management systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mine development, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities

• Professional registration with ECSA or equivalent is highly preferred.
