Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mine planning, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Extensive experience with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or similar.
• Proven track record in developing robust and economically viable mine plans.
• Strong understanding of geological modeling, geotechnical principles, and operational constraints.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and stakeholder expectations.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Experience in the mining sector within the Eastern Cape region is advantageous.

About the Role

Our client, a key player in the mining sector , is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Planning Manager to lead their strategic planning initiatives in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing long-term and short-term mine plans that ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective extraction of mineral resources. You will manage a team of mine planners and engineers, oversee the use of advanced mine planning software, and collaborate closely with geology, operations, and finance departments.
