Job summary

Beca in New Zealand's South Auckland is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to lead capital projects and equipment upgrades in a large, complex heavy manufacturing environment. You will manage projects from concept through procurement, installation and commissioning, delivering practical solutions that improve plant performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background with experience delivering capital projects in heavy industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Strong ability to manage project scope, budget, schedule and risk across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven skills in stakeholder engagement and contractor management, with influence across levels.
• Experience handling brownfield installations with emphasis on health and operational risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects, equipment upgrades and operational improvements within a live manufacturing environment.
• Manage project scope, programme, budget, risk and stakeholder engagement from concept through to handover.
• Coordinate equipment vendors, suppliers and local contractors through procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Work with operations and maintenance teams to integrate new equipment into existing plant infrastructure.
• Lead safe installation and commissioning activities in brownfield environments while maintaining operational continuity.
