Job summary

Beca is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrial team in Tauranga. Deliver mechanical and piping engineering solutions across food and beverage manufacturing, minerals and metals processing, wood and fibre, energy, and water treatment sectors.

You will lead mechanical and piping design work packages, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and manage scope, cost, quality and schedule across office and site environments on large industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial mechanical engineering.
• Experience delivering detailed mechanical designs solutions within heavy industrial or processing environments.
• Understanding of site-based construction practices and operational requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple projects with differing timelines and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical and piping engineering solutions for industrial projects across sectors.
• Play a key role in the delivery of complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead mechanical and piping design work packages, including equipment specification and integration for production systems.
• Deliver project engineering responsibilities across office and site environments, managing scope, cost, quality and schedule.
• Collaborate with site-based engineering and construction teams to deliver industrial capital projects.
• Develop and document mechanical engineering solutions aligned to project and operational requirements across industrial facilities.
• Contribute to project delivery approaches and engineering solution inputs.
• Work within a multidisciplinary Industrial team of engineers, specialists, designers and project delivery professionals.
