Job summary

Waikato Milking Systems in Hamilton, New Zealand, is seeking a senior engineer to join the New Product Development team. You will collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to design practical, reliable, and manufacturable electromechanical solutions used in dairy and industrial automation applications.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering and 7+ years' experience, with strong CAD skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• 7+ years designing electromechanical products.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools, SolidWorks preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience taking products from concept through to production.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our New Product Development (NPD) team, you'll collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to create practical, reliable, and manufacturable solutions used in dairy and industrial automation applications.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related disciplin· 7+ years' experience designing and developing electromechanical products
• Proven experience using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
• Experience taking products from concept through to production
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
