Job summary

Waikato Milking Systems in Hamilton, New Zealand, is seeking a seasoned engineer to join our New Product Development team. You will collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to create practical, reliable, and manufacturable electromechanical solutions for dairy and automation applications.

The role requires a degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering, 7+ years in designing electromechanical products, and proficiency with SolidWorks, GD&T, and production-scale thinking.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years' experience designing and developing electromechanical products.
• Proven experience using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience taking products from concept through to production.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
