Franklin Smith is seeking experienced sheet metal workers to join our team for multi-region projects across New Zealand. You will mark out, shape, form and join sheet metal, read blueprints, and fabricate components with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

The role may require travel to different regions, including Auckland, Nelson, and beyond. Minimum 30 hours per week, with an hourly wage of 28.00–35.00 NZD.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication and joining
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Welding and fabrication skills required

Westport Deep Sea Fishing School is seeking applications for our pre-employment programs.

Re-train with industry created programs that will kick start your career in sea goingpositions on NZ owned deep sea factory ships.

Successful students are facilitated into paid employment in the seafood industry; this however is dependent on usual employment practices, Company and vesselavailability.

Starting wages ranging from 60 – 70k per year depending on trip lengths.

We are looking for multiple experienced Sheet metal workers who have a good attitude towards work and great references. You are required to Mark out, shape, form and join sheetmetal and other materials.

About you:

Successful candidates must be a NZ citizen or resident and have at least 3 years full-time sheetmetal relevant work experience on commercial or civil projects.

Duties include:

• create construction or installation diagrams
• review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements
• measure materials or objects for installation or assembly
• mark reference points on construction materials
• assemble products or production equipment
• weld metal components
• plan layout of construction, installation, or repairs
• smooth surfaces with abrasive materials or tools
• fabricate parts or components
• select construction materials
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with Franklin Smith policies and relevant legislation.
• Other duties as reasonably required within the capability of the employee’s role may also be required from time to time.

The ideal candidate will also have:

• Been able to pass police check and drug test.

About the role:

- Minimum 30 hours per week.

- Hourly wage ranging from $28.00 - $35.00.

- Permanent role – Monday to Friday, with extra shifts available on weekends.

- As part of your employment, you may be required to travel to a different region for a different project, including, Auckland, Manawatū-Whanganui, Marlborough, Waikato, Wellington, Otago, Nelson, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Northland, West Coast, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Gisborne, Southland.

- You will be given reasonable notice if you are required to relocate to another region. Franklin Smith will cover transportation and accommodation expenses related to the relocation.
