Job summary

ORAONE Pharmaceuticals Limited is seeking two full-time Industrial Designers in Auckland to develop product and packaging designs for commercial manufacture. The role covers research, concept generation, and documentation for production, balancing function, aesthetics and manufacturability.

You will prepare sketches, models and specifications, select materials and production methods, and coordinate prototypes for testing and development, collaborating across R&D, management and production teams.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in industrial design.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Design or related field.
• NZQCF Level 4 or higher with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Undertake product research and analyse functional, commercial and aesthetic requirements for products and packaging.

Job Description

Key Terms and Conditions

Employment type: Full-time, permanent employment

Positions available: 2

Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 hours per week

Pay rate: $35.00-$38.00 per hour, depending on relevant qualifications, experience, skills and suitability

Location: Auckland

Actual earnings will be based on the hourly rate and hours worked.

There are no piece rates, commission payments or non-guaranteed bonus arrangements forming a significant part of the employees' earnings.

Applicants who meet only the minimum requirements should expect to be considered at the lower end of the pay range. Applicants with stronger relevant qualifications and experience may be considered for the higher end of the range.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following:

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in industrial design, product design or a closely related area; or
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Design, Product Design or another closely related field; or
• A relevant NZQCF Level 4 or higher qualification, or a comparable overseas qualification, together with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Applicants must also have:

• Knowledge of product design and development processes.
• Ability to prepare sketches, drawings, models, specifications and technical design documentation.
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to develop practical design solutions suitable for commercial manufacture.
• Good communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
