Babcock Australasia is seeking an L3 Design Engineer based in Auckland to lead marine design projects across New Zealand. You will work on propulsion, mechanical design and performance, using INVENTOR and CAD tools while guiding projects from concept through delivery.

The role combines hands-on engineering, project leadership and client interaction, with opportunities to mentor engineers and contribute to shipbuilding and vessel sustainment initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in propulsion systems and vessel performance design.
• Proficient in engineering calculations and technical analyses.
• Strong client engagement and project leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical investigations and develop practical design solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate design reviews.
• Engage with clients to deliver high-quality vessel designs from concept to delivery.
