Job summary

ASB Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Manager Operational Risk to lead the Leading Risk Management transformation programme. You will drive risk governance, design Line 2 operating models, and deliver major enterprise risk initiatives across the organisation.

The role balances transformation delivery with BAU risk activities, reporting to the Head of L2 Enterprise and Operational Risk - LRM Execution, and requires strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in financial services risk management, operational risk, compliance or transformation delivery.
• Proven success leading complex cross‑functional risk or operating model programmes from design to embedment.
• Strong knowledge of non-financial and operational risk frameworks, governance and reporting.
• Excellent planning, prioritisation, dependency management and delivery skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and secure senior‑level decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for governance materials and workshops.
• Resilience, sound judgement and ability to navigate ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead LRM deliverables across interconnected workstreams with initial ASB-CBA focus.
• Translate target-state outcomes into Line 2 designs, plans, standards and BAU processes.
• Lead current-state assessments of governance, information flows and regulatory requirements.
• Design and implement Risk Steward engagement and operating models with reporting protocols.
• Support divisional non-financial risk governance and Line 2 reporting structures.
