Job summary

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency invites applications for a pivotal contract leadership role in Hamilton to manage the Integrated Delivery Contract for West Waikato. You will oversee contract administration, compliance, and programme delivery, driving performance and ensuring value-for-money in major infrastructure projects.

You will lead supplier relationships, provide technical oversight, and handle emergency responses with autonomy to improve road maintenance outcomes across NZ’s state

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex infrastructure maintenance contracts (NZS3917/3910 preferred).
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to drive contractor performance and implement improvement plans.
• Deep understanding of asset management, maintenance practices, and health & safety.
• Financial management expertise, including forecasting and value assessment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying, infrastructure management, project management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• A current and valid NZ Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Integrated Delivery Contract (IDC) for West Waikato, including contract administration, compliance and programme delivery.
• Drive contractor performance and deliver value-for-money outcomes.
• Foster collaborative supplier relationships and oversee emergency response.
• Provide technical oversight and act as the go-to expert for contract management.
