Job summary

Enphase Energy is seeking a Senior Staff Magnetics Engineer for its R&D Centre in Wigram, Christchurch. You will lead magnetics development for micro-inverters, build high-frequency magnetics designs, and mentor hardware engineers in advanced simulation tools.

The role demands a broad electrical engineering background, 10+ years in product development, and strong experience with Multiphysics FEA, Python scripting, and SPICE. NZ residency is required.

Qualifications

• BE, BSc, Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10 years minimum experience in developing products from concept stage to market launch.
• Expert in Multiphysics FEA tools (Comsol/Ansys/CST/FEMM) for high frequency magnetics.
• Experience scripting and circuit simulation (Python, Spice).
• Experience designing power, analogue or digital electronics circuits.

Responsibilities

• Develop simulation tools to design Enphase next generation micro-inverters.
• Analyse real-world circuit and magnetics behaviour to optimise simulation accuracy.
• Design high frequency magnetics for high volume manufacturing in micro-inverters.
• Lead research into new magnetics materials and winding configurations.
• Mentor other hardware engineers in the use of FEA and Enphase simulation tools.
