Job summary

Franklin Smith Group – Waikato District, North Island is seeking an experienced Line Mechanic to join an established team across electrical network projects.

You will carry out line work, maintenance, and repair while working safely around live environments and coordinating crews to keep projects on schedule. This is a long-term opportunity with strong job security and potential progression into senior roles.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a Line Mechanic in electrical networks.
• Strong electrical technical knowledge with trade certification.
• Confident with problem solving and decision making.
• Good communication and client relationship skills.
• Experience working as part of a crew or providing guidance to others.
• Strong focus on safety and quality.
• Relevant registration and recognised trade certification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out overhead line construction, maintenance and repair.
• Work safely around live and network environments.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other field staff.
• Help coordinate crews and resources to keep work on programme.
• Work closely with clients and other site teams.
• Identify and manage safety, quality and project risks.
• Take a hands on approach to complex works when required.
