Job summary

Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington is seeking a Kaituruki Matua (Senior Tutor) to support LAWS212 – Law of Torts on a fixed-term, part-time contract. You will assist with delivering course content and supporting staff and students in the Law School.

Applicants should hold an LLB or equivalent and/or a postgraduate law degree with a strong academic record and relevant experience. Close date: 20 October 2026. Visa status clarity required if applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have LLB or equivalent legal qualification.
• Experience supporting staff and students in an academic setting is desirable.
• Ability to engage with diverse backgrounds in a tertiary environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver two blocks of 10 workshops in each trimester 1 and 2.
• Mark and provide feedback on one writing exercise in each trimester 1 and 2.
• Provide marking assistance for exams/tests at the end of each trimester.
• Attend all lectures (one stream) and distribute roll weekly.
• Run office hours: 1 hour/trimester 1 and 2, plus 2 hours before tests/exams.
