Job summary

Victoria University of Wellington is seeking Kaituruki Teaching Assistants for LAWS212 - Law of Torts. The role is fixed-term and part-time, supporting the legal academics responsible for course content.

The successful candidate will attend lectures, answer questions during weekly office hours, organize study groups and may assist with marking. Preference is given to Law graduates, postgraduates, or senior undergraduates with an excellent academic record.

Qualifications

• Have or are undertaking a LLB or equivalent legal qualification.
• Have an excellent academic record.
• Demonstrate sharp analytical skills, knowledge and understanding of tort law, confidence, empathy and desire to help students excel in their legal study.

Responsibilities

• Attend one stream of LAWS212 - Law of Torts lectures and stay current with course material.
• Answer student questions during weekly office hours.
• Organise student study groups.
• Possibly assist with marking a student writing exercise in each trimester.
• Run/assist with MPI tutorials.

TeHerenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting Kaituruki - Teaching Assistants to assist the legal academics responsible for LAWS212 - Law of Torts on a fixed-term, part-time contract.

In this role you willbe responsible forassistingwith the delivery of LAWS212 - Law of Torts course content.

Key responsibilities:

• Attending one stream of all LAWS 212 - Law of Torts lectures and remaining on top of all course material throughout the year.
• Answering student questions in office hours on a weekly basis.
• Organising student study groups.
• Possibly assisting with the marking of a student writing exercise in each of the two trimesters.
• Running/assisting with the running of the MPI tutorials.
