Job summary

BNZ is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Transact Term Deposits team. You will design, build and maintain reliable, scalable solutions within Temenos Transact, focusing on production readiness and operational reliability.

You'll work in a hybrid Auckland-based role with anchor office days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The team emphasises quality, testing, and collaboration to modernise core banking platforms and enable secure, efficient money movement.

Qualifications

• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Design, build and maintain scalable RESTful services.
• Write unit and integration tests; automated testing emphasis.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud (AWS).
• CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Spinnaker, Terraform).
• Observability and monitoring with Splunk or Dynatrace.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reliable, scalable software.
• Write unit and integration tests; ensure test coverage.
• Own features and manage risk from design to delivery.
• Provide production support and on-call assistance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality and delivery.
• Work on Temenos Transact integration development.
