Job summary

Hamilton City Council is seeking a seasoned leader to plan and deliver major infrastructure programmes within its growth portfolio. You will drive a significant capital investment programme, coordinating across projects, partners, and agencies to achieve outcomes for Hamilton.

You will provide programme leadership from establishment to benefits realisation, ensuring safe, effective delivery aligned with strategic priorities and strong relationships with elected members and communities.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience on financial, construction programmes or project management.
• Curious mind with continuous improvement and comfort with ambiguity.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to partner with stakeholders and lead change.
• Mindset focused on performance and the development of self and others.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex infrastructure programmes from planning to delivery and benefits realisation.
• Build and lead collaborative programme teams across internal and external partners.
• Develop strong relationships with senior leaders, iwi, government agencies and stakeholders.
• Manage programme risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities.
• Monitor budgets, performance and delivery outcomes.
• Mentor project managers and delivery teams.
• Provide clear programme reporting and insights for decision making.
