Job summary

ASB Bank is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to maintain high-availability services across its enterprise platforms in Auckland. The role emphasizes operational excellence, security, and reliable systems, with a practical, hands-on environment to grow in DevOps fundamentals.

You’ll work in a collaborative team, focusing on automation, patching, and certificate management while contributing to documentation and runbooks. Hybrid working and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise environments.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux servers.
• Understanding of networking basics (load balancers, firewalls, certificates).
• Familiarity with ITIL or structured service management processes.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear communication and collaborative mindset.
• Enthusiastic learner, eager to grow in infrastructure engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operational tasks to keep platforms stable and secure
• Monitor platform health and respond to service requests
• Support Windows and Linux patching and security updates
• Manage and renew certificates and security artefacts
• Run regular checks to ensure systems meet capacity thresholds
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks
• Advance automation and best practices
• Follow change, incident, and problem management processes
• Collaborate with peers and senior engineers to learn and improve services
