Job summary

ASB Bank is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Core Tribe and help run and modernise critical banking platforms. You will balance day-to-day reliability with long-term platform improvements, and work across multiple teams to uplift automation, security and observability.

The role leverages Azure and on‑premises with a strong engineering culture. You’ll collaborate with product and operations teams to improve service resilience, deploy automation, and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure, platform engineering or similar roles.
• Strong Windows and Linux server administration experience.
• Proven enterprise infrastructure management experience.
• Expertise with PowerShell and Python scripting.
• Experience with infrastructure and platform automation.
• Strong vulnerability management and patching across servers and containers.
• Experience supporting production services in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure.
• Strong CI/CD pipeline experience and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with Git-based source control and observability tooling.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise Windows and Linux server environments.
• Drive remediation and security improvements for platforms.
• Automate patching and deployment processes.
• Support reliable, secure services across the Core Tribe.
• Design and implement operational tooling, monitoring and alerting.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform delivery.
• Improve observability with dashboards and logs.
• Identify risks and implement preventative controls.
• Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Develop automation to improve platform management and security.
• Create technical runbooks and documentation.
• Promote engineering practices across squads.
