Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Auckland is seeking a Senior ICT Engineer to lead ICT design for buildings and infrastructure. You will mentor junior engineers, drive multi-disciplinary projects, and shape the digital backbone of the built environment.

You’ll collaborate with clients, deliver high-quality specifications, and contribute to innovative building services across local and international projects. A values-driven, inclusive culture supports growth and flexibility in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualifed engineer with 5+ years ICT design experience for buildings and infrastructure.
• Familiar with BIM tools and industry standards.
• Certifications (RCDD, PSP, CCNA, CCNP) and professional memberships.

Responsibilities

• Lead ICT design and delivery across multi-disciplinary projects.
• Engage with clients and end users to understand needs and co-create solutions.
• Produce high-quality specifications, reports, schematics, and solution briefs.
• Design and manage systems including: Structured Cabling & Telecoms Distribution, Data Networks & Wireless LAN, CCTV, Access Control & Surveillance, Audio-Visual & Public Address, BMS & SCADA, Information & Cyber Security.

We're excited to welcome a Senior ICT Engineer to our dynamic Building Services team in Auckland. This is more than a role-its a chance to lead, innovate, and make a meaningful difference across local and international projects.

You’ll work on a diverse portfolio of buildings and infrastructure, from boutique developments to large-scale transformations. You'll collaborate with passionate professionals across disciplines, contribute to cutting-edge designs, and help shape the digital backbone of the built environment.

You'll also mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical excellence, and help foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

What You'll Do

• Lead ICT design and delivery across multi-disciplinary projects
• Engage with clients and end users to understand needs and co-create solutions
• Produce high-quality specifications, reports, schematics, and solution briefs
• Design and manage systems including:
• Structured Cabling & Telecoms Distribution
• Data Networks & Wireless LAN
• CCTV, Access Control & Surveillance Technologies
• Audio-Visual & Public Address Systems
• Control Systems - BMS, SCADA
• Information & Cyber Security

About You

You're a degree-qualifed engineer (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Telecommunications) with 5+ years' experience in ICT design for buildings and infrastructure. You bring curiosity, care, and a commitment to quality-and you're ready to grow in a supportive, values-led environment.

You’ll thrive if you have:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working independently and guiding others
• Familiarity with BIM tools and industry standards
• A collaborative mindset and stakeholder management skills
• Certifications (RCDD, PSP, CCNA, CCNP)
• Memberships (BISCI, IEEE, CIBSE, Eng. NZ)
• Experience in radio systems or transport sector projects
