Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Engineer - Electrical (ICT & Security) in Auckland. You will lead the design and delivery of electronic security, data and ICT solutions, balancing technical leadership with client engagement and project delivery across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
• CPEng (NZ) or equivalent professional recognition is preferred.
• BICSI RCDD and/or DCDC certifications are advantageous.
• CCNA or equivalent networking knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electronic security, communications, ICT and data solutions across projects.
• Act as Project Manager on selected projects, ensuring delivery against programme, budget and quality.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers in the team.
• Undertake technical reviews, verification activities and QA processes.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify future opportunities.
• Contribute to bids, proposals and wider business development initiatives.

Senior Engineer - Electrical (ICT & Security)

We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Auckland Buildings team, with specific focus on electronic security, data & ICT.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing technology strategy, and working closely with clients to deliver innovative electronic security, communications, ICT and data solutions across a diverse range of projects.

You'll combine technical leadership with project delivery, client engagement, and business development while helping shape the future direction of our capability.

As a senior member of the team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions while helping drive innovation and best practice across the business.

You will:

• Lead the design and delivery of industrial electronic security, communications, ICT and data solutions across a variety of projects
• Act as Project Manager on selected projects, ensuring successful delivery against programme, budget and quality objectives
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers across the team
• Undertake technical reviews, verification activities and quality assurance processes
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying future opportunities
• Contribute to bids, proposals and wider business development initiatives
• Drive innovation and technology improvements within electronic security, data and ICT systems
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated client solutions
• Help solve complex client challenges through innovative thinking and practical engineering expertise

About you:

You'll be an experienced engineer who combines strong technical capability with commercial awareness and a passion for client service.

Ideally you'll bring:

• A Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• BICSI RCDD – Registered Communications Distribution Designer
• BICSI DCDC – Data Center Design Consultant and Cisco CCNA are advantageous
• CPEng (NZ) or equivalent professional recognition
• At least 8 years' professional experience
• Experience delivering electronic security, communications, ICT and/or data-related engineering solutions
• Strong project management and client relationship skills
• Experience leading technical work and supporting the development of others
• A passion for technology, innovation and continuous improvement
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• A current driver's licence
