Job summary
Mott MacDonald in Auckland is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to lead hydraulic modelling and network planning for water and wastewater systems. The role collaborates with engineers, planners and digital specialists on national projects, delivering data-driven solutions and strategic infrastructure insights.
You will refine models using InfoWorks, MIKE, EPANET, ArcGIS and QGIS, mentor junior staff, and communicate findings clearly to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in water/wastewater network planning and hydraulic modelling.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaborative approach.
- Passion for delivering high-quality, impactful work for communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to hydraulic modelling and network planning across water and/or wastewater.
- Develop and refine models to support master planning and infrastructure development.
- Apply InfoWorks WS Pro, EPANET, InfoWorks ICM, DHI MIKE+, ArcGIS, and QGIS.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Auckland, Wellington, and nationally.
- Communicate insights clearly to clients and stakeholders; mentor junior staff.
