Job summary

Mott MacDonald Group is seeking a Principal Hydraulics Engineer in Auckland to lead hydraulic modelling for wastewater networks, working with network planners, asset managers and design teams to deliver calibrated models and master plans. You will contribute to business development and project delivery, guiding strategy and investment decisions.

You will mentor junior staff and build strong client relationships while driving innovation and digital delivery across projects.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in hydraulic modelling and network planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, calibration, and production of wastewater hydraulic models.
• Develop network servicing strategies and identify infrastructure to support the strategies.
• Provide technical leadership for network planning and hydraulic assessments.
• Advise clients on growth servicing, network performance, resilience and climate adaptation.
• Oversee hydraulic modelling to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Mentor and train junior team members and contribute to a culture of learning and excellence.

Education

Bachelor/equivalent in Civil, Environmental or Science
