Job summary

Michael Page Australia is partnering with a Wellington-based organisation to hire a People & Culture professional. You will directly support NZ leadership, handling complex HR matters with autonomy and owning key projects across organisational change, workforce planning and employee experience.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years of HR experience, strong knowledge of NZ employment law, and a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset to partnering with senior leaders and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years' HR experience, including HR Business Partnering or senior advisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment law and employee relations.
• Experience independently managing complex ER matters.
• Confidence partnering with senior leaders and multiple stakeholder groups.
• Experience in technology, IT consulting or professional services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to understand business priorities and translate into practical people solutions.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a key People & Culture contact.
• Coach and advise leaders across performance, engagement, capability and people leadership.
• Independently manage complex employee relations matters, incl. performance, disciplinary processes, investigations and grievances.
• Provide advice around restructures, organisational change and workforce planning.
• Ensure people decisions align with NZ employment legislation and ER requirements.
• Contribute to employee experience, culture, engagement and leadership initiatives.
• Use people data and insights to identify workforce trends, risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with a broader People & Culture team across Australia and New Zealand.
