Prison Chaplaincy in New Zealand seeks an experienced HR adviser to join our small national office team. You will provide trusted HR advice to managers, support on conduct and performance matters, and ensure HR practices align with current employment legislation.
We value versatility, autonomy and collaboration, with flexible hours and a strong commitment to staff wellbeing. An empathy for our faith-based communities and te ao Māori is important to embed in workplace practices.
Join our small national office team and bring your significant HR advisory experience to our organisation.
We aim for a high-quality service, and every day will be different, so your versatility and adaptability are important. We like to celebrate, and we truly care about the well-being of our people. The working hours are flexible too.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, this stand-alone HR role offers a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our organisation. You will be self-motivated and confident in your ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in our team.
Experience working in the not-for-profit sector would be an advantage but is not essential. An empathy for our work, and for the churches and faith-based communities that support us, is important. In addition, you will also possess an appreciation of te ao Māori, tikanga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and a willingness to work with us to embed that in workplace practices.
In addition, you must be able to deliver niche project work in the HR space, as well as contribute to wider organisational improvement.
To apply for this position, you must already have the right to live and work in NZ and be open to our compulsory pre-employment drug testing and criminal record checks.
