Job summary

Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd in Auckland is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our Wiri workshop. You'll diagnose faults, service and maintain heavy trucks and equipment, and work with a team of professionals in a modern workshop environment.

You'll perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, using diagnostic tools and manufacturer software.

Qualifications

• Recognised heavy automotive or diesel trade qualification.
• Experience working on heavy trucks, buses, transport equipment or similar machinery.
• Experience working with modern vehicle electronics and diagnostic software.
• Current New Zealand driver’s licence and eligibility to work in New Zealand.
• Class 2, 4 or 5 licence would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults across heavy commercial vehicles and associated systems.
• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Complete mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs.
• Perform inspections and identify additional repair opportunities.
• Utilise diagnostic tools and manufacturer systems effectively.
• Complete job documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and meets quality standards.
• Contribute to a positive, professional, and customer-focused workshop culture.
