Job summary

Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd in Nelson is seeking a skilled heavy vehicle technician to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on our fleet of trucks. You’ll carry out routine maintenance, service checks and inspections to keep gear performing at peak.

You’ll mentor apprentices, work with a supportive team, and participate in after-hours callouts on a rostered basis. A Class 5 HT license is preferred; we can assist you to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with heavy-duty trucks.
• Strong commitment to safety and proactive mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy trucks.
• Perform routine maintenance, service, and inspections.
• Mentor apprentices and collaborate with the team.
• Attend after-hours callouts on a rostered basis and travel as needed.
