Job summary

Troy Wheeler Contracting Limited (TWC) is seeking a senior Health, Safety & Systems Compliance Manager based in Papakura with monthly travel to Gisborne. You will lead health, safety, quality and environmental systems, audit implementation, and drive continuous improvement across projects and operations.

You will build strong relationships with client contacts, ensure ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 compliance, and guide site teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in health and safety, HSQE, compliance or integrated management systems
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Experience maintaining or improving certified management systems
• Experience completing workplace and site audits
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation
• Experience in civil construction or similar operational industry
• Strong written skills for professional plans, procedures and reports
• Ability to investigate incidents and identify corrective actions
• Strong relationship-management and communication skills
• A current New Zealand driver licence

Responsibilities

• Lead and support general health and safety requirements across the business
• Provide practical health and safety guidance to managers, supervisors and site teams
• Undertake regular site visits, inspections, audits and safety walkarounds
• Review site pre-starts, vehicle checks, toolbox talks and other field reporting for quality and completion
• Manage incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and opportunities for improvement
• Maintain company hazard and risk registers
• Manage and continually improve TWC's integrated management system
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements
• Work directly with key client representatives and project stakeholders
• Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with client health, safety, quality and environmental personnel
