Job summary

Shirley Parsons is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support delivery of a major data centre construction project in West Auckland. The role is site-based and senior level, requiring a strong background overseeing complex, high-risk construction activities and collaborating with contractors, design teams and project stakeholders.

You will provide independent oversight of HSE performance, drive continuous improvement, review safety plans and incident investigations, and help

Qualifications

Senior-level construction HSE management experience.
Experience in high-risk construction environments.
Experience engaging with contractors and project stakeholders.
Degree and/or certification in Health & Safety.
Strong communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Provide visible, independent HSE oversight across the data centre construction project.
Monitor contractor HSE performance and support implementation of safety requirements.
Identify and manage high-risk activities (excavation, height, lifting, live energy).
Conduct site inspections and independent HSE audits.
Review safety planning, lifting plans and related documentation.
Coordinate safety planning with contractors, design teams and stakeholders.
Monitor HSE KPIs and support safety reporting and performance reviews.
Review incidents and investigations and implement corrective actions.
Promote a positive safety culture and share best practices.
