Job summary

Hynds Pipe Systems Limited in Auckland is seeking a Graphic Designer & Digital Innovation Lead to guide our 3D modelling, printing, and digital content efforts.

You will manage the 3D lab, prototype with engineers, and maintain brand across print, web, and multimedia while coordinating signage, events, and digital libraries.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Digital Arts, 4+ years in 3D visualization, and strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills, with a passion for design and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Arts or closely related design discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in 3D visualization or related design field
  • Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency with InDesign and Photoshop
  • Strong conceptual development and executive delivery across mediums
  • Experience with website content management
  • Experience in large-scale print development
  • Photography and Photoshop competency for product, event, and in-situ work
  • Videography and video-editing software experience
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
  • Ability to translate ideas into clear concepts across stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of a business
  • Experience communicating with external suppliers

Responsibilities

  • 3D lab management: manage and optimise 3D printing and digital modelling capability, including equipment performance, maintenance planning, quality standards, workflow efficiency, material research and continuous improvement.
  • Prototyping: collaborate with engineers and category management to refine new product concepts.
  • Vendor management: manage and leverage supplier relationships.
  • Resource management: manage the stock of consumables.
  • Technological research: investigate emerging technologies to enhance digital library capabilities.
  • Visual and brand: maintain creative design and brand strategy for print matter in line with current design trends.
  • Software: acquire and maintain expertise across 3D software toolset.
  • Multimedia: support photography and video workflows; edit and maintain image library; develop and manage digital signage.
  • Website: support management and updating of content across Group websites and CMS.
  • Print: design and produce print matter for promotions, catalogues, trade shows, events, and signage.
  • Communications: consult with stakeholders to translate rough ideas into clear concepts.
  • Progression: stay updated on world design trends, software and technology to drive efficiencies

About the role

We're looking for a creative and technically capable Graphic Designer & Digital Innovation Lead to lead and continuously develop our 3D modelling and printing capability for business and customer requirements — including model preparation, prototyping, assembly, rendering and ongoing process improvement.

Alongside our 3D capability, you'll support digital development initiatives, maintain our multimedia and website content, develop and update marketing and communications material, and coordinate print production, signwriting, trade events, sponsorships and event signage to support our company objectives and brand visibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Progression: Keep abreast of world design trends, software and technology to drive continued efficiencies across all marketing output.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Arts (or a closely related design discipline)
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in 3D visualisation or a related design field
  • Adobe Creative Cloud power user, with excellent InDesign and Photoshop skills
  • A proven record of strategic thinking, conceptual development, design creation and operational delivery across a wide range of mediums
  • Competency in website content management
  • Experience in large-scale print development and publication
  • Photography and Photoshop competency for product, event, portrait and in-situ work
  • Videography and video-editing software experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to edit copy as you apply it to design
  • Proven ability to perform and lead by example in high-pressure, deadline-driven creative environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time pressure and constraints
  • Ability to define and articulate business design challenges into a cohesive narrative across stakeholder groups
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of a business
  • Experience communicating with external suppliers

Location: East Tamaki, Auckland
Employment type: Permanent, full-time — 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary Range: $72,000 – $75,000 per annum
